| Welcome to the Kamsack Curling Club Home Page!CURLING NEWS!IT'S A GO!!! December 8, 2004That's right! The Sask Curl Tour Event December 10-12 is a go! We didn't quite get the number of teams we wanted, but we have 12 teams competing for $4500.00!
We can thank 2 very important businesses!
Nykolaishen Farm Equipment and Kamsack Credit Union
They both sponsored a team for the weekend.
In order to be eligible for the Sask Tour Curling, our spiel needs to pay out a minimum of $4500.00. Team entry is $320.00. We needed 14 teams to break even. With only 12 entries, we were in a position, find some funding or cancel the event all together. The latter wasn't an option in organizers' minds.
From the bottom of our hearts, we can't thank these to businesses enough for their generosity. As a thank-you from the curling club, we will be placing their names on 2 of the new score boards that are being made up as we speak. Again, thank-you Nykolaishen Farm Equipment & Kamsack Credit Union!!
Teams competing this weekend include: - Fred Perepiolkin - Gerald Shymko - Andy Kazakoff - Marlon Paraschuk - Terry Marteniuk - Terry Dennis - Darryl Williamson - Ron Tibble - Ron Sharpe - Brian Derbowka - Kinaschuk - Hyrcenko
Good luck to all the teams! Make sure you come out and watch the best of Saskatchewan compete!
Team Perepiolkin fight for spot to compete in Painted Hand Casino World Curling Tour!November 23, 2004 Over the weekend the team skipped by Fred Perepiolkin competed against four other teams for a chance to compete in the upcoming World Curling Tour in Yorkton. The team made up of Fred, skip; Glen Becenko, third; Nolan Nykolaishen, second; and Stan Zielinski, lead. The double knockout competition started on Friday night. The Kamsack team made it to the finals against Grant Bjornerud. Having played two games already against Bjornerud, both teams were determined to win this final game. Fred's team started off strong. They were leading 5 to 1 after 5 ends. But a miss in the 6 and 7th gave Bjornerud two back to back steels tying up the game. Fred was coming home with the hammer. Bjornerud was able to junk up the front of the house right off the bat. He had 2 sitting on the four foot. It looked like he had it sewed up. However, on his last rock, Bjornerud nicked the guard, giving Fred a chance. Fred had to make a double take-out and stick around to count. It wasn't easy. Fred came out a little heavy and the rock didn't curl enough. Bjornerud will be going to the World Curling Tour next weekend. They all played very well. Stan substituted for Mark Warriner who is out with an injured ankle. Stan was a great asset to the team. We look forward to watching them at our Kamsack Cash Spiel on December 10 - 12. Good effort guys!
